Khnum – God of Creative Pottery

Khnum - God of Creative Pottery was founded by Elizabeth Hibel (Midnighowl) and it is part of the Lightworker Series. The following is from her manual:

"Khnum (Khenmew, Khnemu, Khenmu, Chnum), from the Egyptian 'create', 'unite', 'join' or 'build', was an very ancient deity of fertility, water and the great potter who created children and their ka at their conception. He was mentioned in the pyramid texts and the pyramid builder Khufu's name was actually 'Khnum-Khufu' meaning 'Khnum is his Protector'. His cult was popular before the cult of Ra eclipsed it.

His origin was the cataract of the Nile around the area of Elephantine. As a water god he was closely associated with the annual flooding of the Nile. He was the creator of all things that are and all things that shall be. According to the myth, he controlled the caverns of Hapy, the personification of the Nile, and therefore he also controlled the inundation.
In this capacity he was a deity who brought prosperity to the land, a benefactor the people."
